Sweet Dreams...

I recently received an email from a friend congratulating us and pointing out some reasons why God doesn't always grant us the desires of our hearts in our time...it was a great reminder.

"Elisabeth and Zacharias prayed for a child throughout their lives, and yet never had a child until she was long past her childbearing years. The reason was simple: her son was John the Baptist, and the timing of his birth was critical to his mission. Yes, Elisabeth had faith. Yes, the Lord loved her. Yes, he wanted to answer her prayers, and he did in a big way that was more wonderful than she had ever dreamed. But the timing was essential and could not be changed."

This reminder brought tears to my eyes as I realized that God has plans for each of us. He knows our wants, desires, and needs...yet he may withhold them for a time to meet a greater need. I don't know what that could be for our family, but I do have faith that God has great plans than I ever did for this baby I carry. I'm excited to see those unfold in the years to come.

It's true that the Lord knows what is right for our lives, and for our posterity's lives, and that things always work out in ways that amaze us.

Isn't it something to be able to look back at our trial and say "Now I see why things had to be this way"?! It will really be something, to see what the future holds for our posterity.
